Code of Conduct to Clients, Courts and the Public

 ▪ All information received from clients or other agencies shall be given due confidentiality. The contents of any prepared report, including associated notes and other case information, shall not be disclosed to any party except as instructed by the client and/or when properly entered into evidence of a duly qualified judicial or quasi-judicial body.

 ▪ The opinions and conclusions in any written or verbal report will not be the outcome from a requirement to report a predetermined and/or specific result, or the occurrence of a subsequent event in order to receive future compensation or case work. Not, under any circumstances, will services be rendered on a contingency basis.

 ▪ All factors known (to the extent that the data permit) that have an impact on the result(s) will be taken into consideration to the extent deemed necessary in rendering opinions and conclusions. No significant information will be knowingly withheld from any analysis or report.  Opinions and conclusions will be rendered strictly in accordance with the results and findings in the case and only to the extent justified by those results and findings.

 ▪ Prepare and keep notes and associated documentation on all work done, time taken to conduct work, and incurred expenses, which will be made available in a timely fashion if requested.

 ▪ A reasonable effort will be made to ensure that all documentation and items received shall be thoroughly reviewed and analyzed.

 ▪ Utilize techniques, standards and controls in atmospheric science, provided that they exist, that are current and generally accepted.

 ▪ A continual effort will be made to maintain and improve knowledge and methodologies in the discipline of atmospheric science by keeping current with the scientific literature, standards and advancements.

 ▪ All efforts will be made to testify in a clear and straightforward manner. When testifying, qualifications will not be embellished, exaggerated or otherwise misrepresented. Nor will analyses, opinions and conclusions be extended beyond the field of atmospheric science and competence levels.

 ▪ All analyses, reporting and testimony shall be conducted in a professional, independent and impartial manner and will strive to be worthy of the confidence of clients, the courts and the public.

 ▪ Reasonable fees for services will be made to the client. Care shall be taken not to set unreasonably high fees for services, not to charge fees for services not done or services that are unnecessary.
